On the morning of July 1st, to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party and further consolidate the educational achievements of the theme of “Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind”, Deng Yan, Secretary of the Party group and President of Dalian Maritime Court, gave a speech named by “The determinant of success does not have to be me but must have my contribution--being devoted, responsible and proactive”. With the vivid PPT presentation, the speech really impressed every cadre of Dalian Maritime Court.
Deng Yan said that the words “The determinant of success does not have to be me but must have my contribution” is an important statement repeatedly emphasized by General Secretary Xi Jinping on many important occasions. It tells the Party members how to establish a correct outlook on history, development and reputation, and focuses on how to solve the problems of yearning for quick success and immediate benefits and lacking of enterprising spirit. At the same time, it has an important guiding significance for the Party members to strengthen ideological and moral and party spirit cultivation and grasp the direction of life.
Deng Yan emphasized that “The determinant of success does not have to be me” is the ideological level that should be kept in mind when we start the business. It requires the Party members not to pay too much attention to their tremendous achievements and reputation, and to be willing to carry out the work of sticking to the past and opening up the future. “Success must have my contribution” is the responsibility we should take to start business. Every Party member should come down to earth, put aside his personal gains and losses, and open his or her mind to take the lead. Not only do they have to take responsibilities and pick up the burden, but also make up for the shortcomings and seek breakthroughs. It does not matter who is the “successful person”, but “I contribute to the success”.Great things must be done by mass efforts.
Deng Yan said that Dalian Maritime Court has over 36 years of glorious history. We must keep and pass on the good foundation and good style left by our predecessors, so that the Court would develop better in our generation. This is the responsibility of our generation.
First is to have courage. It is because of our courage that we put forward the goal of “building a national first-class maritime court”, pushed the work of the Court to a higher level, and realized the great development of the maritime trial; it is also because of the courage that we united and worked hard to achieve gratifying results and outlooks in all aspects. We must strive for first-class position in the provincial court’s various assessments, the evaluation of judicial transparency index, trying to seize opportunities and plan for long-term development.
The second is to have the enthusiasm for hard work. Happiness comes out of hard-working. We put forward “nine first-class” goals, including awareness, development environment, trial quality and efficiency, modern guarantee, target positioning, working standards, talent team, management capabilities and promotion mechanism. All of the above aspects require us to work hard tirelessly on the basis of clarifying our ideas and work measures,
The third is to have the ability to do good works. We need to improve our abilities on politics, learning, research, innovation and case handling. With the belief of “The determinant of success does not have to be me but must have my contribution”, we are devoted to the development of Dalian Maritime Court. We will work hard to make Dalian Maritime Court a better future step by step and generation after generation.
