On Oct 8, the Supreme People's Court (SPC) released five guiding cases on courts properly resolving post-disaster disputes.

Affected by Typhoon Doksuri, Beijing, Tianjin and parts of Hebei province were hit by extremely heavy rainfall this summer. Courts successfully performed their functions in facilitating post-disaster recovery and production. At the end of August, the SPC released a batch of guiding cases on flood-related disputes. This newly-released batch is a follow-up step to further guide courts at all levels in handling related cases.

In the cases, courts focused on front-line service and onsite mediation, aiming for the efficient and substantial settlement of disputes. For enterprises that suffered from the floods, courts provided targeted service based on their judicial needs, which effectively assisted with the resumption of work and production, achieving positive results.
