On Feb 23, the Intellectual Property Court of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) released the annual report for 2023 and a summary of its judgments.
The year 2023 marked the fifth year of the pilot operation of the SPC's Intellectual Property Court. The annual report comprehensively illustrated the Intellectual Property Court's efforts in fully implementing the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the second Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, practicing active judiciary in the new era, fully tapping the functional role of the national-level appeal mechanism for IP cases, and serving Chinese modernization by modernizing IP adjudication work.
The court selected 96 cases out of 4,562 cases it concluded in 2023, and extracted 104 essential points to form the summary, demonstrating the court's judicial concepts, adjudication ideas and judgment methods in handling IP and monopoly cases in the technology field.
